KHMS PTO Winterfest
The KHMS PTO Winter Festival Committee is working hard to prepare for the upcoming Winter Festival. The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10th.
We have volunteer slots open for both adults and students. Check out our sign-up genius here: https://www.signupgenius.com/
Students, volunteering at our event will count as service hours, which also includes KORT hours.
The Winter Festival is our PTO's way of giving back to all of you and saying thank you for all that you do to support them and Harter Middle School.
We hope you are able to stop in for a bit on the 10th.
End of 2nd Term
The last day of the 2nd Term is Wednesday, December 21st. Grades will be finalized after Winter Break and report cards will be emailed on January 13th.
Winter Break
There will be no school from December 22nd through January 8th. School will resume on January 9th. Have a wonderful break and happy holidays!
8th Grade Information
Please note the below dates and events as we begin to help our 8th grade students transition to high school. More specific information will be shared in the near future. Please take note of the dates for your calendar.
- November 30th - KHS CTE Visit @ Harter (already took place)
- January 11th - 8th Grade Open House @ Kaneland High School 5:30-7:00 p.m.
- This event is for parents and students
- Students will receive the 9th grade registration forms during homeroom
- January 17th & 19th - 8th Grade High School Exploration Days @ KHS
- These two dates are for students only and they will have their exploration day during the school day
- 8 Crimson = Tuesday, January 17th
- 8 Silver = Thursday, January 19th
- January 24th & 25th - Freshman Year Course Selection @ Harter
- This event is for students
- The high school counselors will travel to KHMS to finalized course requests with students during the school day
- May 25th - 8th Grade Promotion (Harter Gymnasium) 6:30 p.m.
- The 8th Grade Promotion date could change if emergency days (snow or cold day) are used. If there are emergency days used, we typically hold the ceremony the night before the last day of school.
- May 25th - 8th Grade Dance (Harter Cafeteria) 7:30 p.m.
- The 8th Grade Dance immediately follows the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony
